Collection: The Forge of Alfheimr

The earliest appearance of elves can be traced back to Norse mythology, where we encounter two kinds: light elves and dark elves, both known for their remarkable skill in crafting beautiful objects.

The light elves are described as beings more beautiful than the sun: luminous creatures who dwell in Alfheimr, the realm of the elves in the heavens, together with Freyr, the god of fertility.

The latter, also known as black elves, are said to have skin as dark as pitch and to dwell underground alongside the dwarves.

The distinction between light and dark elves reflects the coexistence of benevolent and malevolent forces, each conceptually inseparable from the other — for it is from death that life is born.

Over time, elves have become familiar inhabitants of countless fantasy worlds, where they are almost invariably portrayed as enchanting beings surrounded by an aura of magic and mystery.

In this collection, I will gather the jewels that, for one reason or another, remind me of these creatures and of their deep connection with nature — like a little hidden workshop where you might stumble upon objects crafted by the elves themselves.
